How long does a standard reading take?
When you first schedule your reading, I will block out time in my calendar specifically for your manuscript. When I receive your manuscript, I take 2-3 weeks to carefully read through it, taking analog notes that I will later transcribe for you.
Once I’ve done my reading, you will receive a comprehensive written critique – generally 2-5 pages.
Expedited readings are possible in special circumstances; please contact me for more information.

Why can't I book an in-depth edit without a standard reading?
You want to get right down to the polishing, I get it! This requirement is in place to save both of us headaches and worries - I promise.
Over the years I’ve learned that every manuscript that crosses my desk can benefit from a more comprehensive look. Whether a character needs to be further developed, a scene has to be cut completely, or a narrator is just demanding to be first person instead of third, these changes will immediately render any line edits moot.
Long story short, it just makes sense to make the big picture as strong as possible before we start dissecting lines that might not even make it into your final draft!
